hollywood forever cemetery

on sunday night, eric, camron, gary, sabien, & i walked to the cemetery for their movie night. it was "ferris bueller's day off" a tribute night to john hughes (the writer-director who recently died) and they had some of the film's actors there to introduce it and tell some little stories from making it. the cemetery allows people to bring chairs and picnic blankets/baskets, drinks or whatever food you want and then everyone spreads out on the grass and once it gets dark they start the show. some people even brought candles, it was cool. probably 3000 people were there this time-super crowded-every inch of grass was taken up plus people were sitting on the cement paths surrounding the lawn.

happy labor day!

the sun is looking less obstructed by dirty air-yea!
the view to the north. the tower of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Sunset Blvd-more than 100 yrs old & the Hollywood sign behind that.

camron made a great salad: spinach, dried cherries, dried blueberries, pistachios & vinaigrette.
his rooftop is super nice. hot tub, 4 grills, multiple table/chair set-ups, lounge chairs, a 360 degree view of Hollywood. It's so nice to have him as a neighbor, just one small block north of us, maybe 6 buildings down, it's great!

fires

waiting for eric to run into the most wal-mart'y wal-mart to make a payment on our TV (for some reason we cant pay it online or over the phone, so once a month we have to go to the store. it's pretty far north in the valley, in panorama city, right near john macarthur's church. the air there is SO smokey/nasty from the station fire.
more shots of the sun...

fires

from burbank, really close to the apt we used to live in in north hollywood.
from sunland/sun valley area

this is what the sun has looked like mid-afternoon-on for the past week or so. it's hard to tell which is the sun and which is the moon because they both look like this.
